Shepaug River….Northwestern Connecticut

by admin on February 26, 2013

The Shepaug River begins in Warren and winds it’s way 26 miles south through Washington, Roxbury and Southbury where it  joins the Housatonic River at Lake Lillinonah. There are many sections of the river, that a paddler can enjoy a feeling of being in the wild. You might first see the river from your room at the Riverview Bed & Breakfast in Roxbury or if you are more adventurous try a whitewater kayak trip This area of Connecticut offers plenty to do and an abundance of senic beauty…..enjoy. Nearby are Mount Tom State Park the lovely village of Washington Depot the rather posh Mayflower Inn and Spa the Hopkins Inn and so much more
